Don Bosco International Film Festival 2012

As part of concluding ceremony, seminar has been conducted on “ Changing narrative in Malayalam cinema and millage of Malayalam film in international arena”. Renowned film director Dr. Biju, Director and film critic Vijayakrishnan, film producer Appachan participated in the programme and Dr. V. C. Haris was the moderator.

Fr. Jacob Malayatty and Fr. Boby Kannezhuthu addressed the audience on the occasion. Fr. Jiji Kalavanal, Director of DBIFF, delivered vote of thanks.

Don Bosco International Film Festival 2011

The 2011 Edition of Don Bosco International Film Festival came to a grand finale with the award ceremony on 29th October 2011 at the state of the art media institute “Don Bosco IMAGE”. Mr. Lal Jose, renowned Director and Film Maker of Malayalam Film Industry, awarded the winners in the presence of actress Archana Kavi of Neelathamara fame.

The selected and the nominated movies were screened during the festival days along with three international movies, Incedies (French), Poetry (Korean) and Sophie Scholl (German).

The festival offered a welcome venue for film lovers to come together to see and assess movies of the younger generation as well as to enjoy international movies in a full HD theatre. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Lal Jose said that there is no substitute for hard work, imagination and observation in making a good movie. He exhorted the upcoming film makers not to walk the beaten bath, but trace one for themselves. In his welcome address Fr Jiji spelt out the scope of the film festival as creating a venue for upcoming film makes to screen their films, have them evaluated by competent persons and get due recognition for them. The festival was a pleasant experience for all present.

Don Bosco International Film Festival 2010

Three day long Don Bosco Film Festival culminated this evening with the presentation of Awards by Mr. Ravindran (Cine Artist), Mr. Rupesh Pual (Film Director) and Prof. Jossy Joseph.

Final day was inaugurated by Mr. PF Mathews, Nation award script writer for the year 2010 . He conducted the seminar on ‘Story and screenplay in cinema’. The evening sessions were on “Parallel Cinema Culture’ by Prof. Jossy , Mr. Ravindran and Mr. Rupesh Pual.

The Awards for various categories are:

  • Best Documentary “Maduram Nintay Jeevitham” B y Ebin Raj.
  • Special Jury Award Short Film “Don’t Cross the Line” By Venu Nair

  • “The Boy Who Stood up” By Sebastian Koladiyil SDB
  • “Penthattakam” By Jino Joseph
  • Animation “Mourning Sunday” By Shajahan
